Advanced Wing Systems is a small Australian company developing a two-sheet wing-like sail adjustable in both twist and camber for use on all types of sailing boats.

With over 20 years of `backyard' development, the SRW is beginning to make serious waves in the sailing community, winning the Boat of the Year in Yachts and Yachting magazine the UK as well as winning endorsements by professional sailors.

Marquis Engineering's  role as the engineering consultant was to assist the core SRW team in commercialization documentation, production development as well as simulation studies of various design facets to improve overall system understanding and reduce weight and production costs. These included using OpenFOAM in developing 2D and 3D fluid dynamics to study various overall and detailed flow characteristics to reduce losses while increase of the overall performance stability of the system.
